I thought I could do brew in a bag in my kettle with a couple muslin bags I had around, and wound up losing a bunch of temperature and having to compensate on the fly by reheating the water and wrapping with towels. Only got 50% efficiency, getting a 1.020 OG out of 4.5kg of grains. So I bought this bag to go in a cooler I already had, did the same recipe, and wound up at 1.060, 80% efficiency, just from this bag and closing the cooler. More importantly: I enjoyed it more. I actually got to sit back and wait during the mash instead of monitoring heat loss in the kettle. Absolutely worth it.
Did my 10 gal of a almond porter sitting in my 14 gal ss fermenter the grain bag did what it was ment to do held 22lb of grain and drained great!!!!!!!!
I picked up a second BIAB for my mash tun for big beers. Works fantastically! The Brew Bag makes the best bags out--without any questions!
I haven’t officially brewed with it yet but it fits perfectly in my 72 quart Coleman cooler. I will be doing a Sierra Nevada pale ale clone this weekend and I am sure I will not be disappointed.
